Three modeled EQs including Passive three-band; fully-parametric three band Active, and Focusing, with three bands + selectable saturation
The Passive-Active Pack is a collection of three very different equalizers, each with its own character and quirks. The equalizers contain emulations of real workhorse equalizers, used on thousands of recordings from past to present.
Passive Equalizer is a three-band EQ with an unprecedented clear and open sound, a warm low end and sparkling top.
Active Equalizer is Passive's counterpart with three fully parametric bands and a tight and focused sound.
Focusing Equalizer is an untraditional take on the EQ concept where the low, mid and high bands move automatically and musically in relation to the high and low cut filters. It also features filters from the Passive and Active EQ's as well as an outstanding one-knob Saturation control.
At first glance it may seem like you're sacrificing versatility by using an equalizer with a limited set of options - why use a three-band equalizer when you can use your digital equalizer with umpteen bands, continous gain, selectable Q and different curves all built in? Well, equalization is all about sound design. Having an equalizer where the designer has already made some of the choices four you is like having an experienced sound engineer helping out and giving you directions.
All equalizers are modeled using the same state-of-the-art technology as we used to create our very popular FET Compressor and the Brilliance Pack plug-ins for Abbey Road.
General Features * Authentic component modeling
* Fully automatable parameters
* Output gain and output metering
* 3-D rendered photo-realistic user interface
* Available for VST, AU and RTAS compatible hosts
Features Passive Equalizer * Three bands with an extremely wide and open sound
* Excellent treble control without any "digital harshness"
* Warm low end and a sparkling top
Passive EqualizerModeled from a famous German three-band passive equalizer, it features a wide band width with an unprecedented clear and open sound. The Low boost gives you a warm low end, perfect to fatten up a bass drum or bass guitar track. Cutting the highs give you a very gentle 6dB cut which allows you to remove some of the unwanted highs without too much intrusion in the sound. The High boost is open and crisp, excellent to live up an otherwise dead track.
Knobs at a glance...Low GainA shelving filter that gives you a fat and warm, and slightly uncontrollable but remarkably open, low end.
High GainOpen and wide shelving filters with a fantastic sounding brilliance without ever sounding harsh or digital.
PresenceA stepped presence filter, ranging between 700Hz and 5.6kHz with a gain control from 0 to +8dB. The 700Hz position is definitely our favorite when we need to add body to a snare drum!
Features Active Equalizer * Tight and focused sounding filters
* Low- and High cut
* Three parametric bands with:
o Selectable gain in 2dB steps (-/+ 16 dB)
o Selectable frequency with overlapping, but non-interfering, bands
(50-500 Hz, 380Hz-3.8kHz, 1.8-18kHz)
o Select between a sharp or blunt peak (Q) for each band

Three Parametric Bands
Three bands, slightly overlapping, with a frequency, gain (+/- 16dB) and a width selector. Each band can be set to OFF as well.
Low: 50 - 500 Hz
Mid: 380 - 3800 Hz
High: 1.8 - 18 kHz
High/Low Cut18dB/octave high and low cut filters selectable in six steps, including bypassed cut filters.
Low Cut: 80 - 500 Hz
High Cut: 5 - 15 kHz
Features Focusing Equalizer * Built-in one knob saturation with metering
* Selectable saturation type
* Choose between Passive or Active EQ character
* Three-band EQ that automatically and musically changes with Low and High Cut
Focusing EqualizerUnlike the previous two, this one is our own bastard creation. The main idea is to have an equalizer where you first set the band width with the Low and High Cut faders, which will automatically re-set the frequencies of the High, Mid and Low bands to match your recording. After that, you use the High, Mid and Low to create the sound of the track, focusing on the sound you're interested in. No need for separate frequency selectors for the different bands since these have already been set in a very natural sounding way by the High and Low Cut.
The sound of the Low and High cuts, as well as the Low, Mid and High filters come from the Passive and Active Equalizer models. In addition to this we have added a Saturation circuit, very much based on the distortion and compression from our famous FET Compressor.
