Review: API 500-6B Lunchbox 6 slot 500 series chassis
Positives:Well built, multiple connection options
Negatives:not rackmountable without purchasing a 3rd party kit
Not too much to review on this. First it is API so it is well built. It is a 6 slot chassis with the power supply mounted inside (not external like some). It has a handle on the side for carrying. The unit is not rack mountable as is however, there are a couple companies that sell a rackmount kit. I have mine rackmounted which is awesome but beware that you have to take apart just about the whole thing for the rackmount conversion. A little scary but not too bad!
The main thing that makes this rack great is the DB25 connections which for me is awesome because I use it to interface to my patchbay. The other cool thing is that all outputs are active at the same time so you can use the xlr and db25 together.
It is reasonably priced compared to other chassis, there are cheaper and there are more expensive. This one is the standard and the best priced for having 6 slots.
