My Review

Holy Crap! $180!!!!!!!! Ok so I bought this bass for my studio. The intention was to have a bass that I could leave just hanging on the wall and grab it whenever I had ideas or for teaching so I wouldnt have to get the others out of cases. First thing I did was replace the neck pickup with a Dimarzio. Then I put some D’addario flat wounds on it. First off the quality is amazing. The frets are actually very nice and the edges are what you would expect on a $600 mexican series. No jagged ends stabbing you as you slide down the neck. Action out of the box was good but after a pro setup the bass just took of. It is not just an “idea” quick grab anymore. It is one of my main tracking basses. I grab it when I want that vintage, woody sound due to the flatwounds. It does not fell like a cheap bass and especially doesnt sound like one (as long as you upgrade the pickups. The short scale is also super fun to play. WHAT A BASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah and get the black one. It looks tough.
