Review: GSA Tube67
good versatility, possibility to choose the sound of the mic from the 9 patterns selector, very high quality components, hand assembled.
far-east made body.
An interesting hand-made tube microphone from the new entry GSA AUDIO. The body is probably manufactured in the far-east, but is solid and this does not affect the quality. Despite the name this mic is a middle between an U67 and a C12.
The circuitry it’s something sear the U67, but the components are very familiar with the C12. The tube is a NOS 6012a, the transformer an high quility BV11 style and the capsule an accurate copy of the Neumann K67 hand-tuned by the company and selected for identical frequency response.
The sound is very interesting: it’s warm in the bottom-end and clear in the top-end. The 9 patterns selector allow to change the sound of the microphone, so tahtit’s possible to choose the sound we preffear. At this price the feautures of this microphone are really uncommon.
